"A Conspiracy to Trap Me":Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar Drops Major Sting Operation Bombshell
Political drama in southern India has reached a boiling point as Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar made an explosive public claim, alleging that a calculated sting operation was engineered to trap him shortly after he assumed office. Speaking out on the covert political maneuvers targeting him, the Chief Minister asserted that he has successfully gathered comprehensive intelligence, photographs, and documentary evidence identifying the masterminds behind the plot.
"I Have the Documents Ready": DK Shivakumar's Bold Claims
Addressing reporters and political circles, Chief Minister Shivakumar revealed that this was not an isolated incident, noting that private television entities had attempted similar tactics during his tenure as a cabinet minister:
-
Gathered Intelligence: "I have gathered information about those people through my police officers and I have the documents ready. I know the pretext under which they came and whom they met," Shivakumar stated firmly.
-
Strict Security and Warnings: Citing ongoing threats, the CM issued a stern warning to his administrative colleagues and political aides to remain hyper-vigilant against honey-traps and suspicious private operatives. He noted that he maintains three strict security circles and has already removed several individuals with dubious intentions from strategic positions.
-
Political Sourcing: Shivakumar alleged that some of these operatives were directly hired by political rivals, backed by concrete proof. His claims received immediate political backing from Deputy CM G. Parameshwara and Home Minister Priyank Kharge.
Crossfire and Retaliation: HD Kumaraswamy and Opposition Reactions
The explosive revelation comes just a day after Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy accused Chief Minister Shivakumar himself of utilizing a sting operation as a political weapon to edge out Siddaramaiah from the CM's chair.
Meanwhile, PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi added a colorful spin to the political warning, remarking: "Some people from North India, associated with a private agency, tried to trap the CM. One must be careful when rasgulla, maddur vada, and mulbagal dosa are served. Such things are common in politics."
Countering the allegations, Karnataka BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra hit back sharply, claiming that the ruling Congress party possesses a historical precedent for such operations, citing past controversies involving honey-traps and political espionage in the state.
