News Topical, Digital Desk : The month of Kartika is a very special one. This month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe. During this month, Lord Vishnu awakens from Yoga Nidra. This marks the end of Chaturmas.

Devuthani Ekadashi is celebrated on the day Lord Vishnu awakens. Tulsi Vivah is celebrated the following day. All auspicious activities are performed on Devuthani Ekadashi. Let's find out the exact dates of all the major fasts and festivals in the month of Kartik.

Fast-festival list (Kartik 2025 festival list)

  • The month of Kartik will start from 8th October.
  • Karva Chauth and Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on October 10 (Kartik 2025 Hindu festival). Karva Chauth is celebrated every year on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Kartik. Lord Ganesha is also worshipped on this auspicious occasion.
  • Rohini Vrat is observed on October 11. On this day, women observe a fast and worship Lord Vasupujya Swami to increase happiness and good fortune.
  • Ahoi Ashtami, the monthly Kalashtami, Krishna Janmashtami, and Radha Kund Snan fall on October 13. The festival of Ahoi Ashtami is celebrated every year on the Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Kartik.
  • Libra Sankranti will be celebrated on October 17. The Sun, the significator of the soul, will transit from Virgo to Libra on October 17th.  
  • Rama Ekadashi falls on October 17th. This festival is celebrated every year on the Ekadashi Tithi (eleventh day) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Kartik. On this auspicious occasion, Lakshmi Narayana is worshipped with devotion. Ekadashi fasts are also observed. Observing this fast brings desired results.
  • Dhanteras, Yam Deepak, and Shani Pradosh fasts fall on October 18th. Dhanteras is celebrated annually on the thirteenth day of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of the month of Kartika. Lord Dhanvantari is worshipped on this day.
  • Hanuman Puja and Kali Chaudas are on October 19. Goddess Kali and Lord Hanuman will be worshipped on this auspicious occasion.
  • Diwali, the Festival of Lights or the Festival of Lights, is celebrated on October 20. Diwali is celebrated every year on the new moon day of the month of Kartik.
  • Govardhan Puja is on 22nd October.
  • The festival of Bhaiya Dooj and Chitragupta Puja will be celebrated on 23 October.
  • Vinayaka Chaturthi falls on October 25th. This festival is celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi (fourth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) of each month. This day  marks the beginning of the Chhath festival  . Devotees will begin the fast with Nahay Khay.
  • Labh Panchami is on October 26th. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped on this auspicious occasion. Kharna will also be celebrated on this day.  
  • On October 27, evening offerings will be made to the Sun God, the factor of the soul.
  • The morning offering of Arghya will be made on October 28. This will mark the end of Chhath Puja.
  • Gopashtami is on 30th October.
  • Akshaya Navami is on October 31. This festival is celebrated every year on the ninth day of the bright fortnight of Kartik month.
  • Devuthani Ekadashi is on November 1. Chaturmas will conclude on this day.
  • Tulsi Vivah is on November 2. Goddess Tulsi and Lord Vishnu are worshipped on this day.
  • Pradosh Vrat falls on November 3rd during the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Kartik month. On this auspicious occasion, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are worshipped.
  • Dev Diwali is on November 5. This festival is celebrated every year on the full moon day of Kartik.
