Today marks the final opportunity for applicants to register for the SSC CGL examination

News Topical, Digital Desk : This highly anticipated opportunity concludes today, on June 22nd, 2026, for prospective candidates seeking a role in various government ministries, offices, and departments across the country. The application process is strictly online and must be completed with the fee payment due by June 23rd, 2026, no later than 11 PM.

Those who need to make any corrections to their submitted online applications will have a designated window between June 29th and July 1st, until 11 PM, to do so.

The examination's first phase, a computer-based test, is slated for September-October, with the second phase planned for December. The exam will be conducted in numerous cities within Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Educational prerequisites stipulate that a graduate degree is required for all positions except for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II, which have specific requirements in mathematics, economics, and statistics. Applicants are advised to fall within the age bracket of 18 to 32 years, with the standard age relaxation applicable for reserved categories, calculated as of August 1st, 2026.

Numerous esteemed posts are available, including Assistant Section Officer (ASO), Inspector (CGST & Central Excise), Assistant Enforcement Officer (AEO), Sub-Inspector CBI, Sub-Inspector Narcotics, and others.

These positions span across prestigious departments such as the Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Finance, among many others. The CGL Tier-1 is a one-hour computer-based test with 100 questions distributed across four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension, each worth 50 marks. Half a mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

The selection procedure involves two stages. Tier-I is a computer-based exam that is qualifying in nature. Tier-II consists of a compulsory Paper I for all candidates, and Paper-II for those applying for the JSO position.
