Janmashtami 2025: How to establish Laddu Gopal on Janmashtami, know the rules and traditions

News Topical, Digital Desk : The birth anniversary of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great pomp across the country on the Krishna Paksha Ashtami of Bhadrapada month. On this day, many devotees install Laddu Gopal in their homes and worship him. But placing the idol of Lord Krishna in the house is not just a religious custom, but also a big resolution and responsibility.

1. Installation in auspicious time

It is considered best to install Laddu Gopal (laddu gopal sthapana niyam) on Janmashtami or any other auspicious date and time. Install Laddu Gopal only after asking the auspicious time from a Pandit or Astrologer.

2. Pran Pratishtha of the idol

Just buying the idol is not enough. At the time of installation, proper worship and Pran Pratishtha should be done with water, Panchamrit, rice, flowers, Tulsi leaves, incense sticks and lamps. This process can be done with the help of a Pandit or at home as per the scriptures.

3. Commitment to serve every day

After bringing Laddu Gopal home, serve him daily-

Wake up in the morning and take a bath.

• Dressing up and grooming.
• Offering of Prasad (seasonal fruits, sweets, butter-sugar, kheer etc.).
• Performing aarti and bhajans.
• If some day you are unable to serve, then apologize in your heart.

4. Do not leave the idol alone

It is considered inauspicious to bring Laddu Gopal (Janmashtami 2025) home and forget him in a corner. Consider the Lord as a respected member of your home and take care of him daily.

5. Observance of purity

• Always keep the place of worship and the idol clean.
• Before the puja, take a bath and then serve.
• Whatever offering you make to God, it should be pure and fresh.

6. Importance of Tulsi leaves

Tulsi is very dear to Lord Krishna, therefore do not forget to offer Tulsi leaves in every offering.

7. Location of the statue

Place Laddu Gopal in the north-east direction of the house, where there is flow of natural light and positive energy.

8. Arrangements for travel or absence

If you are going on a trip or will not be at home for some time, then bathe the idol with water, wrap it in a cloth and keep it in a safe place. During this time it is considered permissible to not offer daily services to them.
