Uttar Pradesh Emerges as Global Semiconductor Hub at SEMICON 2026
Positioning itself as an upcoming global epicenter for semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing, Uttar Pradesh made a powerful impression on the international stage by participating in "SEMICON 2026" held in Taipei from September 2 to 4. Under the progressive leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a high-level state delegation presented a compelling investment model to leading Taiwanese technology companies, inviting global industry leaders to establish chip manufacturing plants, data centers, and high-tech electronics projects within the state.
Presenting Uttar Pradesh's Robust Investment Model to Taiwanese Giants
At the prestigious India-Taiwan Semiconductor Forum, the Uttar Pradesh government delegation showcased the state's investor-friendly policy framework, world-class industrial infrastructure, and vast pool of skilled human resources. International investors were briefed on how Uttar Pradesh is pioneering strategic partnerships in chip manufacturing, cutting-edge sensor technology, and supply chain localization. Key policy frameworks, including the Uttar Pradesh Semiconductor Policy 2024 and the FDI Policy 2023, were highlighted as definitive guarantees of a secure, transparent, and profitable investment ecosystem for major global enterprises looking to expand their manufacturing footprint.
High-Level Strategic Discussions With MediaTek, Creative Sensors, and Industry Leaders
The high-powered delegation representing Uttar Pradesh was led by Principal Secretary for Electronics and IT, Alok Kumar, alongside Invest UP CEO Prerna Sharma and YIDA CEO Manish Meena. The team engaged in extensive, high-level discussions with Eugene Huang, Chairman of Creative Sensors Inc., exploring viable pathways for the company's manufacturing expansion into India. Furthermore, highly productive deliberations were conducted with senior representatives and executives from global semiconductor powerhouses such as MediaTek, ADATA Technology, and the TIBA Business Association to explore lucrative joint ventures and long-term technological investments.
Strategic Proximity to NCR and Advanced Infrastructure Attracts Foreign Investors
Addressing international stakeholders, Principal Secretary Alok Kumar emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is not merely formulating futuristic policies but actively building an end-to-end industrial ecosystem to translate policies into reality. Taiwanese investors were apprised of how the state’s regional policies seamlessly align with national initiatives, including the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM 2.0) and the Electronics Components and Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). Foreign investors expressed immense enthusiasm for Uttar Pradesh, driven by its strategic geographic proximity to the National Capital Region (NCR), vast land banks, rapidly scaling infrastructure within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, and a highly talented workforce aimed at establishing the state as India's premier high-tech manufacturing hub.
