UP Administrative Reshuffle: Yogi Govt Transfers 7 PCS Officers; Jyoti Rai Named Azamgarh Addl. Commissioner
In a continuous effort to streamline administrative efficiency and optimize governance across the state, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has implemented a fresh bureaucratic reshuffle. As part of these administrative orders, seven Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers have been transferred to new strategic postings across various districts.
Jyoti Rai Appointed Additional Commissioner Of Azamgarh
Among the notable transfers announced, Jyoti Rai—who previously served as the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) in Balrampur—has been elevated and posted as the new Additional Commissioner of the Azamgarh Division. Her transfer marks a significant promotion within the regional administrative hierarchy.
To fill the vacancy left in Balrampur, Banda City Magistrate Sandeep Kela has been reassigned as the new ADM (Finance and Revenue) of Balrampur. Meanwhile, Bulandshahr Sub-District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra steps into the role of Banda's new City Magistrate.
Key City Magistrate Swaps Between Prayagraj And Gorakhpur
The administrative shakeup also features high-profile inter-district postings, most notably a direct swap between the city magistrates of Prayagraj and Gorakhpur. Prayagraj City Magistrate Vinay Kumar Singh has been transferred to Gorakhpur, while Gorakhpur City Magistrate Utkarsh Srivastava takes over responsibilities in Prayagraj.
Additionally, Chandauli SDM Divya Ojha has been entrusted with the crucial responsibility of Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) in Bareilly, and Nidhi Pandey, previously posted at Jan Bhawan in Lucknow, has been appointed as the Sub-District Magistrate of Lucknow.
Recent High-Level IAS Transfers Reinforce Governance
This latest round of PCS transfers follows a recent major administrative overhaul involving 13 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. Key divisional commissioner appointments were finalized across Gorakhpur, Basti, Bareilly, and Prayagraj following retirements and vacancies:
-
Indra Vikram Singh has been appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Gorakhpur.
-
Vaibhav Srivastava takes charge as the Divisional Commissioner of Basti.
-
Shambhu Kumar assumes office as the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly.
-
Dr. Lokesh M has been appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj.
Other notable senior bureaucratic movements include Anil Dhingra taking over as the Housing Commissioner of the Housing Development Council, Pushpraj Singh transitioning to Additional CEO of Noida following his promotion from PCS to IAS, and Dr. Balkar Singh appointed as the CEO of the State Industrial Development Authority. Through these targeted bureaucratic realignments, the Yogi Adityanath administration continues to strengthen grassroots execution and administrative accountability across Uttar Pradesh.
