Dedicated to public service, the newly constructed 1.80-kilometer road stretching from Green City to Madhopur Dam has been completed at a substantial cost of ₹69.58 crore. Alongside opening this crucial connectivity route, the Chief Minister will address a major public gathering on municipal corporation land near the Sewage Treatment Plant in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Nagar, with local administration and Public Works Department (PWD) Division 2 finalizing grand preparations for the event.
Enhancing Connectivity and Urban Infrastructure
Executed by Construction Division 2 of the Public Works Department, this strategic road project originates from the Gorakhpur-Sonauli National Highway (NH-24), passing through Green City and Pataniya before connecting seamlessly to the Madhopur Dam. The comprehensive widening and strengthening of this thoroughfare not only ensures smoother daily commutes for residents of Green City and surrounding residential colonies but also establishes a reliable alternative route toward the dam. Additionally, modern civic amenities have been prioritized, featuring well-constructed drainage systems on both sides of the road to prevent waterlogging and ensure efficient stormwater management.
Third Major Infrastructure Gift to Gorakhpur in a Month
This inauguration marks the third major transport and connectivity milestone gifted to Gorakhpur by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath within a single month. The infrastructure blitz kicked off on July 11, when the CM inaugurated the 11.6-kilometer-long Bhathat-Banssthan four-lane highway built at an estimated cost of ₹690 crore. Following that, on July 23, Gorakhpur witnessed the launch of its very first six-lane flyover spanning 2.6 kilometers (built for ₹429.49 crore) alongside the crucial four-lane stretch from Padleganj Chowk to Firaq Gorakhpuri Chowk (built for ₹278 crore), further cementing the city's status as a rapidly modernizing urban hub in Uttar Pradesh.
