2249 candidates who got one mark are waiting to join, only with the decision of the Supreme Court

News Topical, Digital Desk : UP Primary Teacher Bharti: After the settlement of the reservation case going on in the Supreme Court, 2249 candidates who had passed the 69000 teacher recruitment with one mark will be appointed. UP Teacher Recruitment: Even after nearly three and a half years have passed, the candidates, who passed one mark in the 69,000 teacher recruitment for government primary schools of UP, are waiting to be appointed even after so many days.

In a resolution given on June 5, Rajendra Pratap, Secretary, Examination Regulatory Authority's office said that the Basic Education Council will be able to take appropriate action regarding the selection of these candidates after the reservation case pending in the Supreme Court is decided.

What was a human error by the experts?

For three and a half years, this case: Everything started in the 69,000 teacher recruitment examination held on January 6, 2019. In fact, in one question, all four options given were technically wrong, yet in investigation subject matter experts associated with Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) had identified one option as correct. The concerned candidates went to the High Court against this major human error.

The High Court heard the petition at length and gave a significant decision on August 25, 2021, in which the High Court said that all those candidates who attempted the controversial question and were one mark away from passing, would be given one mark and their result would be declared again.

After this, the UP government had appealed against the order of the High Court in the Supreme Court. But the Supreme Court rejected the government's appeal with complete authority.

Selected among 3192 applicants – left out 943?

After the Supreme Court gave permission, in its capacity, Examination Regulatory Authority's Office, on Jan 10-19,2023 sought representation from all candidates who had appealed to the High Court by August 25, 2021. In all 3192 candidates, their claims were processed to gain job employment. Surprisingly when these representations were analysed.

The department's report revealed that 943 candidates got one mark under the order of the court.

But they still failed to secure the passing mark in the overall results and thus were rejected by the department. Out of them, only 2249 candidates are awaiting for the Supreme Court decision in reservation case and will join soon.
