News Topical, Digital Desk : Many people experience leg problems due to sitting in one place for hours. For this problem, a rule of 30-60-5 has been given by a varicose vein specialist doctor. People have to sit in one place for hours doing office work. But sitting all day is a “silent killer” for our bodies. When we stay in the same place for long periods of time, it affects many parts of the body, especially the legs. Vascular surgeon Dr. Sumit Kapadia (Varicose Vein Specialist) has revealed the 30-60-5 rule that can help prevent leg problems. Find out what this rule is.

Sitting for long periods can cause blood clots.

sitting 30 mins blood pools. Your calf stops pumping blood. Vein valves weaken. Blood flow is reduced. The damage starts quiet.

What is a 5 minute calf raise?

If you're sitting in one spot for hours and your legs are stiff, a 5-minute exercise can help. In this exercise you contract your calves. That will push 30-40 ml of blood up. Five squeezes can push 150-200 ml of deoxygenated blood out of your legs.

What's the rule?

Every 30 minutes, stand up for 60 seconds. Do 5 calf lifts. Blood flow can be restored by standing for 60 seconds, then walking for 5 minutes.

What happens if you don't do this?

If you work for office for 8 hours for a stretch or more than 6 hours for a stretch blood clots. If you don't, you may clog your veins in a month. Varicose veins can develop within 6 months. Within 2 years, skin damage and discoloration may occur. Ulcers and risk of DVT can be increased after 5 years.

This trick should do the job

When you are busy with work, you forget to get up and exercise. So it is better to set alarm every 30 minutes. This is a small habit but it will make a big difference.

Blood circulation will be great
