
New Delhi: The hockey team returned to India after winning the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics. The team landed at Delhi airport on Saturday morning. The players were given a grand welcome as they came out of the airport. The hockey team danced to the beats of drums. Hockey team players PR Sreejesh, Amit Rohidas, Raj Kumar Pal, Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh and Sanjay will return after the Olympic closing ceremony.
It is worth noting that India defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored both the goals. The Indian hockey team achieved the feat of winning Olympic medals twice consecutively after the 1968 and 1972 Olympics. The Indian hockey team has won 13 Olympic medals so far.
