In the year 2025, women will celebrate the festival of Hariyali Teej on 26th July. On this day, for the long life and good fortune of the husband, some women keep a fast without water, while some women keep a fast by eating fruits. 

The festival of Hariyali Teej is associated with the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is said that on this day 16 items of makeup are offered to Goddess Parvati. This includes bangles, sindoor, mehndi, toe rings, etc. 

 

Green colour is considered a symbol of happiness, prosperity and good fortune. In the month of Sawan, along with the rain, nature also becomes green. This colour is also dear to Mahadev. That is why this colour is associated with the happiness of married life. On this day, women apply mehndi on their hands (Hariyal teej mehndi significance) and wear green bangles, green saree. 

 

Hariyali Teej is related to Goddess Parvati 

It is said that Bholenath met Goddess Parvati in this month. While performing penance to get Lord Bholenath as her husband, Goddess Parvati applied mehendi on her hands and feet. 

After this, Bholenath accepted Goddess Parvati as his better half. Since then, it has been a tradition that on the day of Hariyali Teej, women apply mehendi on their hands and do sixteen adornments.

 

Mehndi is related to the planet Venus 

On the day of Hariyali Teej, women apply mehndi (Hariyal teej mehndi significance) on their hands. Actually, mehndi is also related to the planet Venus, which is also a factor of beauty. It is also a factor of marital happiness. Apart from this, it is also the planet that gives wealth, property and prosperity.
