Ramayana Trailer Launch Postponed for a Global Stage

The exciting confirmation of the Ramayana trailer screening comes hot on the heels of its recent postponement. Originally slated for a July 24 drop, the makers delayed the release just hours before schedule to announce a game-changing international partnership. Producer Namit Malhotra released an official statement confirming that the project is collaborating with global entertainment giant Sony Pictures Entertainment. Malhotra shared that the goal is to launch the trailer globally on a massive scale, marking a historic milestone in the 100-plus years of Indian cinema by showcasing an indigenous epic on par with major Hollywood releases. This strategic move is designed to introduce global audiences to the rich heritage of Indian storytelling, backed by massive international distribution networks.

Star-Studded Cast and Grand Scale of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios in association with Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana boasts one of the most stellar ensemble casts in cinematic history. Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor essays the revered role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi stars as Sita. Kannada superstar Yash takes on the formidable role of Ravana, with Sunny Deol portraying Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey featuring as Lakshman. Planned as a magnificent two-part cinematic universe with global IMAX releases, Ramayana Part 1 is slated to light up theaters during Diwali 2026, followed by Ramayana Part 2 during Diwali 2027.
