Chand Mera Dil 22 May 2026 Theater Release: Marriage, responsibilities, children and a career… it is tough to juggle all of them at the same time, isn’t it? What is the movie's story
The film is about Chandni (Ananya Panday) and Aarav (Lakshya) They meet in college at Hyderabad and fall in love, Chandni becomes pregnant. Chandni chooses to become a mother. They are married. At first everything seems to be fine, but then life changes and everything falls apart.
What’s not good
Slow start: The first 30 minutes can be pretty disturbing. The only thing that will come to your mind is “Who does this these days?” Some scenes, though, seem pointless.
Lack of Chemistry: Even though the romance between Ananya and Lakshya is shown in the beginning, their chemistry fails to connect with the audience. The film also repeatedly uses camera moments in an attempt to distract the audience. So when their pain is finally put up on screen, the audience does not sympathize.
Predictable End: The plot of the film is so predictable it becomes boring.
Story: The topic is good but the story is not realistic.
What’s up?
Great Music: Sachin-Jigar’s Music is good. Two songs, ‘Ishq Nibhawan’ and the title track redeem the mood somewhat.
What about the acting?
Lakshya has proved himself to be a good actor especially in emotional scenes. His pain is palpable when he breaks down on screen.
Ananya needs to improve her acting. She looks beautiful only on screen but doesn't connect with the audience through her character.
To watch or not to watch?
Good Subject Matter, Bad Presentation. Worth watching the film in cinemas had Ananya been replaced with a less popular actress. But it never came. You can wait for the film to release on OTT.
