Bhediya 2: Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan & Amar Kaushik Reunite for Mystery Project
Fueling widespread speculation across Bollywood circles, actors Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan have joined forces once again with filmmaker Amar Kaushik, hinting at a potential return to Maddock Films' interconnected horror-comedy universe. The creative trio, who originally teamed up for the 2022 creature-comedy Bhediya, sent social media into overdrive on Monday evening, October 26, 2026, after Sanon posted an intriguing behind-the-scenes video featuring herself alongside Dhawan and Kaushik. Reposted promptly by Dhawan to his millions of followers, the clip carried a cryptic teaser: "A collaboration that will make you 'obsessed'. Stay tuned." The intentional emphasis on the word "obsessed" immediately sparked intense debate among movie enthusiasts and industry trackers, with many questioning whether the creative minds have finally commenced prep for the eagerly awaited sequel Bhediya 2 or are engineering a distinct commercial project.
Decoding the 'Obsessed' Tease: Amar Kaushik Reunion Ignites Sequel Buzz
The unannounced reunion marks another chapter in the creative chemistry shared by Dhawan and Sanon, who first paired up in Rohit Shetty's 2015 action-romance Dilwale before establishing a dedicated fanbase through Bhediya in November 2022. Set against the dense wilderness of Arunachal Pradesh, the original creature comedy saw Dhawan play Bhaskar, a road construction contractor who transforms into a mythological shape-shifting werewolf following an animal bite, while Sanon portrayed Dr. Anika, a wildlife veterinarian carrying deep, mystical secrets of her own. With the creative mastermind Amar Kaushik physically present in the latest teaser frames, fans across microblogging platforms have begun connecting narrative dots, speculating whether the playful caption hints at a direct script reading, a promotional asset shoot, or the formal pre-production rollout for the next supernatural installment.
From 'Stree 2' High-Octane Cameo to Overcoming the August 2026 Production Delay
Interest surrounding the werewolf franchise skyrocketed following the massive theatrical run of the 2024 blockbuster Stree 2, where Varun Dhawan’s Bhaskar made a celebrated crossover cameo to rescue Shraddha Kapoor's character, cementing the shared timeline of Dinesh Vijan's supernatural franchise. Although production banner Maddock Films had officially listed Bhediya 2 on its 2025 upcoming slate with a tentative theatrical window slated for August 2026, unforeseen development hurdles and shifting shooting calendars caused the production to be quietly postponed without formal updates. With the core trio now visibly reunited and teasing high-voltage developments, industry insiders are tracking whether Maddock Films is gearing up to formally reactivate the project's production schedule and announce a revised theatrical timeline to carry forward its horror-comedy lore.
