Tata Tele Q2 Results: Losses Shrink to ₹59 Cr, Board Clears Key Leadership
Tata Group enterprise connectivity and telecom solutions arm Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) demonstrated sequential operational recovery in its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27, announced on Thursday afternoon, October 22, 2026. According to official regulatory filings submitted to domestic bourses, the company’s net loss contracted significantly on a quarter-on-quarter basis, shrinking to ₹59 crore from the ₹72 crore deficit posted in the preceding quarter. The bottom-line improvement was underpinned by steady enterprise client acquisition and stable service billings, which propelled operational revenue to ₹310 crore during the July–September quarter, marking a healthy sequential expansion from the ₹302 crore recorded in the April–June quarter. The performance highlights ongoing fiscal discipline within the Tata Group telecom arm as it navigates legacy debt overheads while expanding modern cloud and enterprise connectivity offerings.
Margin Dynamics: Stable ₹163-Cr EBITDA Countered by Slight Margin Compression
On the operating front, TTML maintained steady operational profitability, reporting an earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of ₹163 crore, matching the exact operational cash earnings generated in the prior quarter. However, due to higher volume turnover coupled with incremental enterprise network maintenance and software support costs, the company’s operating EBITDA margin experienced a mild sequential contraction, easing to 52.6% from 54% in the previous quarter. Despite the slight margin tapering, the continued stabilization of operating cash flows provides essential financial runway for TTML's digital transformation roadmap, ensuring that enterprise voice, data, and internet-of-things (IoT) connectivity suites continue to gain traction among Indian corporate clients without eroding operating buffers.
Executive Board Overhaul: Gaurav Gupta, New KMPs, and Strategy Leaders Appointed
Alongside the quarterly financial scorecard, TTML’s Board of Directors approved an extensive leadership restructuring aimed at reinforcing corporate governance, institutional strategy, and client retention. The board formally approved the induction of Gaurav Gupta as an Additional Director (Non-Executive and Non-Independent) effective October 23, 2026, subject to subsequent shareholder confirmation. In a simultaneous compliance filing, the board cleared the appointment of Sweety Mamodia as the company's new Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, designating her as Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) starting November 1, 2026. Strengthening executive bandwidth on the operational front, the board confirmed the appointments of Sai Pratyush as Vice President – Strategy and Vaibhav Ambradkar as General Manager – Customer Experience Group, with both appointments coming into immediate effect on October 22, 2026, positioning the enterprise for targeted growth across high-margin business communication and strategic digital services.
