Swaraj Engines Hits All-Time High on Record Q2 Profit: Engine Sales Surge 20%
Shares of diesel engine manufacturer Swaraj Engines surged to a fresh lifetime high during Monday's trading session on October 12, 2026, advancing up to 8.89 percent after the company delivered record-breaking financial and operational metrics for the July–September quarter. After opening at ₹3,486.70 against its previous close of ₹3,439.10, aggressive post-earnings buying pushed the stock to a peak of ₹3,744.90, lifting the company’s market valuation past the ₹4,500 crore milestone on the national bourses. The sharp equity re-rating was powered by double-digit volume expansion in tractor engine dispatches, accelerated topline revenues, and all-time high bottom-line profitability supported by sustained rural mechanization and agricultural machinery demand.
Record Q2 Financials: Volume Climbs 20% to 61,216 Engines Amid Robust Tractor Demand
Operational performance during the second quarter of fiscal 2026–27 was highlighted by strong dispatch numbers, with Swaraj Engines selling 61,216 units compared to 51,164 units in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. This represents an absolute volume increase of 10,052 engines, or an expansion of 19.65 percent year-on-year. Driven by higher sales volumes, revenue from operations jumped 26.02 percent to ₹635.19 crore against ₹504.04 crore reported in the year-ago period. Operating performance kept pace with revenue gains as operating EBITDA increased 27.1 percent to ₹86.45 crore compared to ₹68.03 crore, enabling operating margins to tick up slightly to 13.6 percent from 13.5 percent. Profit before tax (PBT) reached a historic milestone of ₹81.38 crore compared to ₹66.75 crore, while net profit after tax (PAT) rose 21.9 percent to an all-time quarterly high of ₹60.57 crore against ₹49.68 crore, translating into a quarterly earnings per share (EPS) of ₹49.86 versus ₹40.89 a year earlier.
H1 Milestones, Mahindra Linkage, and Cash Flow Watch for Investors
The positive trajectory was equally evident in the cumulative half-yearly scorecard for April through September 2026, with overall engine deliveries increasing 17.8 percent to 1,18,019 units compared to 1,00,204 units in H1 of the previous year. Cumulative six-month revenue rose to ₹1,223.58 crore from ₹988.14 crore, profit before tax climbed to ₹156.02 crore from ₹133.92 crore, and consolidated net profit reached ₹116.10 crore against ₹99.65 crore. As the primary engine supplier to Mahindra & Mahindra’s Swaraj tractor division, the company remains closely tied to domestic agricultural capex cycles and festive retail sales momentum. However, market analysts highlighted one key operational variable for balance-sheet monitoring: net cash generated from operating activities during the six-month period moderated to ₹101.61 crore from ₹112.96 crore in the corresponding prior timeframe, underscoring the importance of working-capital discipline as production lines operate at elevated capacity.
