Rice Stocks Rally: LT Foods Jumps 14% & KRBL Surges 8% Amid Strong Earnings and Export Momentum

Shares of major rice manufacturing and exporting companies witnessed a massive buying frenzy on August 24, 2026. Industry leaders like LT Foods and KRBL recorded substantial double-digit gains, outperforming the broader market. This strong upward momentum was driven by robust quarterly financial results, expanding operating margins, favorable currency dynamics, and growing confidence in the global agricultural export sector.

Strong Quarterly Results Drive LT Foods Rally

LT Foods shares experienced a continuous and aggressive upward surge throughout the trading session, climbing roughly 13.55% to reach ₹485.55 by midday. The stellar rally follows exceptional June quarter financial results, where the company reported a 26% year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹3,161 crore and a 20% jump in EBITDA to ₹363 crore.

Driving this performance is the rapid growth of its core basmati and specialty rice portfolio, featuring iconic brands like Daawat, Royal, and Golden Star. Brokerage firm Motilal Oswal recently re-rated the stock with a "buy" rating and a target price of ₹520, noting strong volume growth of 10% overall and 11% in its branded segments.

KRBL Surges on Expanding Margins and Profit Growth

Similarly, shares of KRBL rallied strongly, jumping about 8.27% to trade at ₹440.60 following solid financial disclosures on August 13. While quarterly revenue saw a modest dip of 5.6% to ₹1,496 crore, the company's net profit skyrocketed by 73% to ₹260.74 crore.

Furthermore, KRBL's EBITDA surged by 65% to ₹372 crore, while its EBITDA margin expanded sharply from 13.9% to 23.8%. This margin expansion was largely fueled by lower raw rice procurement costs and the superior financial performance of its domestic branded business, attracting heavy trader interest.

Export Tailwinds and Market Dynamics

The broader rally across the agricultural sector was further supported by favorable macroeconomic factors, including a weaker rupee, which typically benefits export-oriented businesses by enhancing foreign exchange realizations. Institutional participation also played a vital role, with domestic mutual funds increasing their stakes in leading players like LT Foods during the quarter.

However, market analysts advise caution against chasing prices blindly after such a sharp single-day rally, especially as stocks like LT Foods approach brokerage target levels.
