The IIFA Awards which started in London in the year 2000 has turned 25 today. Now its ceremony is being organised in Abu Dhabi. This award ceremony which will start on 27th September will continue for 3 days. This year also Abu Dhabi is hosting this ceremony for the third consecutive time. So far, this award ceremony has been organised in India only once in 25 years. However, Bollywood stars have created a stir in more than 17 countries in this award. IIFA Awards which is considered to be the most prestigious award of the world's second largest film industry Bollywood will begin from Saturday evening. Bollywood stars have started gathering here. 

This award was started in the year 2000

In the year 2000, this award was organized for the first time in London, the capital of the European country England. Bollywood and Hollywood stars participated together in this award. Chinese star Jackie Chan was also honored with an honorary award in this award show. After this, in the next year 2001, this award was organized in Sun City, South Africa. This show was hosted by Priyanka Chopra. After this, in 2002, this award was organized in the city of Genting Highlands, Malaysia. This ceremony was hosted by Lara Dutta. In 2003, this award was organized in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa and Dia Mirza was the host along with Anil Kapoor. After this, in the next year 2004, this award was held in Singapore which was hosted by Rahul Khanna and Selena Jaitley. In the same year, Jaya Bachchan was honored for the film 'Kal Ho Na Ho'. In the year 2005, this award was organized in the Netherlands and Fardeen Khan hosted it along with Karan Johar. After this, this award was organised in Dubai in 2006, UK in 2007, Thailand in 2008, Macau in 2009, Sri Lanka in 2010, Canada in 2011, Singapore in 2012, China in 2013, America in 2014, Malaysia in 2015, Spain in 2016, America in 2017 and Thailand in 2018.

This award was organized in India only once

The year 2019 is the only year when the IIFA Awards were held in India. This award show held in Mumbai was hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana and his brother Aparshakti Khurrana. This year Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit set the stage on fire with their performances. After 2019, this award was put on hold due to the Corona epidemic. Then in 2022, this award show was organized in Abu Dhabi. After this, it was also organized here in 2023. This year also the IIFA 2024 award show is being organized in Abu Dhabi. This year too Bollywood stars are going to set the stage on fire here. This award show is starting from this evening.
