New Delhi: The country's three major government oil companies - Indian Oil (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) have released the new prices of petrol and diesel for October 12, 2024. These government companies update the rates of petrol and diesel every day at 6 am since 2017. However, there is no major change in it. Last time, just before the Lok Sabha elections, a big cut of Rs 2-2 per liter was seen in the prices of petrol and diesel in March.
There has been no major change in the prices of petrol and diesel even on 12 October 2024 (Saturday). Petrol and diesel prices remain stable even on Saturday, meaning consumers will get fuel at the old rates. It is worth noting that GST is not levied on petrol and diesel. The final price of petrol is decided after adding things like excise duty, dealer commission, and VAT to its retail price.
