New Delhi: Domestic equity markets closed at fresh highs on Friday amid strong buying in IT and tech stocks following strong quarterly results from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Shares of IT Companies

The BSE's main index Sensex closed at an all-time high of 80,519.34 points with a gain of 622 points. During trading, it rose up to 996.17 points.Similarly, the NSE Nifty rose 186.20 points and crossed 24,500 for the first time and closed at a high of 24,502.15. Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services, says that due to many favorable conditions, the market has come out of the limited range.

Possibility of reduction in interest rates

The strong results of the IT sector and the inflation in the US reaching a one-year low have also increased optimism in the market. The decrease in inflation is increasing the possibility of a cut in interest rates in the US in September. The fall in the dollar index is also indicating this.
