The glory of Lord Satyanarayana is described in Skanda Purana. According to which, Lord Vishnu told Narada the importance of Satyanarayana Vrat. According to beliefs, devotees who listen to this Vrat Katha with devotion and consider truth as God, get the desired results.
It is also said in this Purana that by merely listening to the story of Satyanarayan, a person gets the same fruits as the yagya performed for thousands of years. It is also believed that by reciting this story, the problems coming in the life of the devotee can also be removed. Along with this, this puja also protects us from negative forces.

Keep these things in mind (Satyanarayan Puja Niyam)
It is considered auspicious to perform Lord Satyanarayan Puja and Katha on Ekadashi, Poornima or Thursday of any month. Also, the story and worship of Lord Satyanarayan can be done by both men and women. It is also said that when a person organizes the Satyanarayan Katha, he should invite as many people as possible to the Katha.
In this way do Satyanarayan Vrat Puja (Satyanarayan Puja Vidhi)
During Satyanarayan Vrat, one should fast for the whole day. Wake up early in the morning and wear clean clothes after taking bath etc. Spread a red cloth on a stool and place a picture of Lord Satyanarayan. Place a Kalash near the stool. After this, call a Pandit and listen to the story of Satyanarayan. Offer Charanamrit, Paan, Sesame, Roli, Kumkum, Fruits, Flowers, Betel Nut and Durva etc. to the Lord. Include other devotees along with the family in the story. In the end, distribute the Prasad of the story among all the people.
