Bengaluru: An employee has been fired from his company for allegedly threatening to throw acid on a woman's face in Bengaluru. The accused had threatened a man that he would throw acid on his wife's face, sources said on Friday. Police are investigating the accused, Nikit Shetty.

Accused Nikit had sent a threatening message to a person named Ansar

On October 9, Nikit allegedly sent a message to a man named Ansar, saying, "Tell your wife to wear good clothes, especially in Karnataka, or else I might throw acid on her face." After receiving the message, Ansar informed the police and also shared a screenshot of it.

The victim had complained by tagging Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar

Ansar posted on the internet media tagging the Director General of Police, Chief Minister's Office and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, "This is a serious matter. Police are investigating against the accused Nikit Shetty. This person is threatening to throw acid on my wife's face because of her choice of clothes. Please take action." Later Ansar wrote, "The man who threatened to attack my wife with acid has been fired from his job by the company."

The company took immediate action and fired the accused

Many people thanked the company for taking action against the man who threatened to attack a woman with acid just because he did not like her clothes. Ansar also posted thanks for the support he received. He said that the man who threatened my wife Khyati with an acid attack lost his job. The company took immediate action and fired him. Life imprisonment for acid attack

Section 124 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) addresses crimes involving attacks using acid or similar substances. This section imposes severe penalties for causing permanent damage or grievous harm through acid attacks, including life imprisonment and fines to cover the victim's medical expenses.
