Yogi Government's Mission Shakti Campaign Reaches Over 99,000 Villages

The comprehensive Mission Shakti campaign, spearheaded by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to elevate women's safety, respect, and self-reliance, has delivered remarkable ground-level results across the state. By fostering a secure environment and creating expansive awareness networks, the administrative push has successfully reached millions of citizens, transforming the law-and-order landscape for women and girls throughout the region.

Phase 5 Outreach: Inspecting Nearly 300,000 Public Spaces

During the intensive second phase of Mission Shakti Phase 5—conducted from March 19 to April 17—law enforcement and administrative departments executed coordinated statewide operations:

  • Massive Inspection Drive: Authorities inspected approximately 2,90,153 schools, colleges, markets, malls, parks, and crowded public intersections to ensure robust security.

  • Strict Enforcement: Police checks across public hotspots verified over 38.64 million individuals, leading to 1,841 registered cases, 6,276 arrests, and formal warnings issued to over 1.68 million people. Additionally, close to 40,000 electronic surveillance cameras were installed in sensitive areas.

Women Beat Police Reach 99,377 Villages

Highlighting the grassroots reach of the initiative, ADG Padmaja Chauhan, nodal officer for the Women and Child Protection Organization, noted that the campaign successfully combined awareness with proactive policing:

  • Village Outreach: Female beat police officers visited 99,377 villages and municipal wards, directly engaging with women to listen to their grievances and provide immediate assistance.

  • Community Engagement: Through Mahila Chaupals held at religious sites and local fairs, over 1.55 million people were informed about government welfare schemes and emergency helplines.

  • Support Coordination: Special emphasis was placed on identifying victims of domestic violence and connecting them with legal aid, maintenance support, and inter-departmental relief mechanisms.

Promoting Sports, Health, and Safety Awareness

The campaign also leveraged cultural and athletic events to inspire participation and self-confidence:

  • Marathons for Safety: District-level running events dedicated to women's safety saw active participation from over 66,000 women and girls.

  • Railway Station Outreach: The Government Railway Police (GRP) extended the campaign's reach by distributing promotional material across 11,226 trains and nearly 4,900 railway stations.
