Ramayana Vatika in Bareilly: CM Yogi to Inaugurate

In a major development poised to redefine the religious, cultural, and eco-tourism landscape of Rohilkhand, the Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) has completed the construction of the sprawling 'Ramayana Vatika.' Situated within the upscale Ramganga Nagar Housing Scheme, this thematic public park is designed to immortalize key milestones from Lord Shri Ram's 14-year forest exile (Vanvas). With final horticultural touches and infrastructure testing underway, civic authorities are actively coordinating with the Chief Minister's Office to invite Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to officially dedicate the prestigious heritage project to the public during the upcoming Shardiya Navratri festival.

Living Ecology of Valmiki Ramayana: The Botanical Concept of 'Green Ramayana'

The core architectural philosophy driving the park is the innovative concept of the "Green Ramayana." Rather than relying purely on stone masonry, landscape designers curated botanical collections based on authentic descriptions found in Maharishi Valmiki's epic verses. The garden recreates the rich biodiversity, trees, flowering shrubs, and medicinal flora representative of the dense forests—including Dandakaranya and Panchavati—through which Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshmana journeyed during their exile. Post-monsoon landscaping, lawn manicuring, and horticultural rejuvenation are being expedited across the grounds so visitors experience the botanical sanctuary in full seasonal bloom.

51-Foot Colossal Lord Ram Statue and Multimedia Light-and-Sound Spectacle

The crowning centerpiece of Ramayana Vatika is a monumental 51-foot-tall statue of Lord Shri Ram, sculpted to inspire awe and devotion among arriving pilgrims and tourists. Complementing the central icon, administrative authorities are finalizing high-tech arrangements for an immersive light and sound show designed to bring pivotal narrative episodes of the Ramayana to life against evening backdrops. BDA Vice President Soumya Pandey confirmed that the project stands structurally complete and ready for public unveilings, highlighting that the site will serve as a premier center for cultural education and spiritual tourism across North India.

Daily Sunderkand Recitals, Open-Air Amphitheater, and Comprehensive Public Amenities

Designed to function as an active community center, the park features a modern open-air amphitheater that will host continuous cultural programming throughout Navratri. Scheduled events include collective Sunderkand recitations, spiritual discourses (satsang), devotional singing (sankirtan), and classical theatrical enactments based on sacred texts. To accommodate heavy tourist footfalls, the BDA has integrated visitor amenities into the master plan, including hygienic public restrooms, broad walking tracks, seating gazebos, security setups, and dedicated food kiosks offering wholesome refreshments.
