All‑rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out of the Ireland, England and Zimbabwe tours after a left quadriceps injury sustained during an ODI against Afghanistan. He returned in the recent T20I series against Afghanistan, claiming 3‑24 and 3‑25 in the second and third matches. In seven T20Is he has 9 wickets at 16.66 and 91 runs at a strike rate of 168.51.

Mayank Yadav reappears after Zimbabwe stint

Fast bowler Mayank Yadav was not selected for the England series but made a strong comeback in the Zimbabwe tour. In his first match after nearly two years he took 2‑18, and in the final game he finished with 3‑29. Across six T20Is he has 9 wickets at 17.22 and an economy of 6.73.

The five‑match series will run from 6 to 17 October, with games in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Shreyas Iyer will captain the side, while Tilak Varma will serve as vice‑captain.
