Janmashtami Security : UP Government Implements Vigilance Across Buses and Bus Stands on CM Yogi’s Direct Orders

With millions of devotees expected to travel across Uttar Pradesh for the auspicious celebrations of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the state transport administration has rolled out a comprehensive, high-alert security grid. Acting on the explicit directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, security is being drastically tightened across all major bus terminals, depot complexes, and transit routes leading to prominent religious destinations such as Mathura, Vrindavan, and Govardhan. The proactive initiative aims to guarantee safe, seamless mobility and robust crowd management for travelers during the festive rush.

Heightened Monitoring on Routes to Mathura, Vrindavan, and Govardhan

The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami draws massive crowds from across the country to Uttar Pradesh's sacred Braj region. To accommodate the heavy influx of pilgrims, State Transport Minister (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh has directed Transport Corporation officials to exercise extreme vigilance and finalize all logistical preparations well in advance.

Special operational focus is being placed on continuous bus services connecting major districts to Mathura, Vrindavan, and Govardhan, ensuring that public transit remains efficient, reliable, and secure amidst surging passenger numbers.

Strict Surveillance and Inspections at Bus Stations

To preempt any security risks, Transport Corporation Managing Director Prabhu N. Singh has issued strict mandates to all regional and assistant regional managers. Comprehensive security protocols now require intensive surveillance across major bus terminals, passenger lounges, and boarding bays.

  • Bag and Luggage Checks: Security personnel and transit staff are conducting random inspections for unclaimed or suspicious items on buses and within station premises.

  • Immediate Police Coordination: Field managers have been instructed to maintain direct, round-the-clock communication with local law enforcement to report and neutralize any suspicious activity instantly.

Passenger Convenience and Emergency Preparedness

Beyond threat prevention, the transport department has scaled up passenger amenities at high-density bus stations to manage long queues and prevent congestion. Special contingency plans have been put in place to handle sudden traveler surges, ensure on-time bus rotations, and provide rapid response mechanisms for any roadside or terminal emergencies during the festive celebrations.
