CM Yogi Highlights UP's Shift to 75 Cyber Police Stations at TechSangam 2026

Emphasizing that the true measure of modern innovation lies in its capacity to uplift society, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that aligning the evolving possibilities of technology with public welfare, transparent justice, and the economic future of youth is the foremost necessity of our time. Sharing his vision ahead of attending "TechSangam 2026" at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) in Lucknow, the Chief Minister underscored that safeguarding citizen security and building societal digital trust requires an aggressive expansion of scientific research, cutting-edge technical infrastructure, and highly skilled human capital across cybersecurity and forensic disciplines. By anchoring technological advancements in public welfare, the state seeks to ensure that transformative tools such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and digital forensics serve as shields of equity rather than instruments of exploitation.

Transforming UP's Policing: How Infrastructure Surged From 2 to 75 Cyber Police Stations

Reflecting on the dramatic evolution of Uttar Pradesh’s administrative and investigative work culture, Chief Minister Adityanath observed that before 2017, the country's most populous state operated with only two specialized cyber police stations and four functional forensic laboratories. Due to this severe deficit in scientific infrastructure and forensic documentation, perpetrators routinely exploited procedural loopholes to evade legal retribution, leaving the state's criminal conviction rate languishing below 30 percent. Over the past nine years, the state administration systematically overhauled this institutional deficit, establishing dedicated, fully operational cyber police stations across all 75 districts while expanding modern forensic facilities into every administrative division. This decentralization of advanced forensic resources and crime-scene technologies has substantially expedited complex digital investigations, plugged evidentiary loopholes in the courtroom, and delivered a marked increase in criminal convictions across the state.

Industry, Academia, and Innovation: Fueling Youth Employment and a Self-Reliant India

Beyond reinforcing the rule of law, the Chief Minister highlighted that the rapid rise of forensic science and cybersecurity ecosystems is opening unprecedented educational and professional avenues for the state's expanding youth demographic. TechSangam 2026 serves as an international junction where distinguished scientists, policy architects, legal luminaries, and corporate tech leaders convene to explore actionable frameworks for digital evidence integrity, ethical AI deployment, and enterprise cyber resilience. By fostering direct institutional linkages between academic research institutes, governmental enforcement bodies, and high-tech industries, Uttar Pradesh is actively nurturing a pipeline of homegrown technical talent capable of driving self-reliance in strategic technologies. This collaborative momentum directly feeds the national vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and propels the country’s progression toward becoming a fully developed nation (Viksit Bharat).
