CM Yogi Hails Surge in Female Workforce Participation to 36%
Extending heartfelt Sharadiya Navratri greetings to the people of the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that women now lead more than 50 percent of the recognized startups across Uttar Pradesh, showcasing a profound structural shift in the state's entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state's double-engine administration operates by embracing the sacred cultural ethos of "Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra devataah" (where women are honored, divinity blossoms). Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has instituted targeted interventions across security, social dignity, and financial self-reliance, transforming Uttar Pradesh from a formerly riot-afflicted territory into a vibrant, festive state characterized by law, order, and dynamic commercial growth.
Economic Transformation: Female Workforce Participation Soars from 12% to Over 36%
Highlighting the stark contrast with governance prior to 2017, Chief Minister Adityanath noted on social media platform 'X' that stepping out of the house once posed an acute security challenge for women in the state. Today, women are confidently working night shifts across diverse industrial sectors, delivering fresh momentum to Uttar Pradesh's expanding economy. A central indicator of this systemic progress is the steep rise in female workforce participation, which has climbed from a baseline of 12 percent to more than 36 percent. The Chief Minister pointed out that women spearheading more than half of the state's startup ventures provides definitive proof of growing self-assurance, institutional backing, and broadening socioeconomic opportunities available to women across urban and rural landscapes.
Comprehensive Welfare Matrix: From Kanya Sumangala to Working Women Hostels
The Chief Minister highlighted that the double-engine government's welfare architecture provides end-to-end support throughout every phase of a woman’s life, safeguarding maternal health while securing the educational and professional ambitions of young girls. Maternal and infant nutritional security have received substantial reinforcement through the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and the overarching Poshan Abhiyaan. For educational longevity and long-term financial stability, flagship initiatives such as the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana offer dedicated monetary safeguards. Concurrently, operational interventions—including the multidimensional Mission Shakti campaign, school infrastructure revamps under Operation Kayakalp, Kasturba Balika Vidyalayas, the expansive Safe City surveillance project, mobility assistance via the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Yojana, and subsidized urban accommodations through the Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Working Women Hostels—are opening new frontiers for female education, personal mobility, and economic autonomy. Chief Minister Yogi affirmed that by advancing the mission of 'Empowered Women – Prosperous Uttar Pradesh', the state continues to make decisive strides toward realizing the national vision of 'Developed India – Developed Uttar Pradesh'.
