Boxing Champion Ayushi Prajapati Becomes UP Police Sub-Inspector, Bringing Glory to Kushinagar

Proving that unwavering grit and fierce determination can conquer any obstacle, Ayushi Prajapati from Hata, Kushinagar, has scripted an inspiring success story. A celebrated state and national-level boxing champion, Ayushi has officially added a prestigious new title to her resume: Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector. On October 8, 2026, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally handed over her appointment letter in Lucknow, honoring her remarkable athletic and professional achievements.

A 10-Year-Old's Dream Inside the Boxing Ring

Ayushi’s extraordinary journey into the world of combat sports began back in 2012 when she was just 10 years old. Residing in Indira Nagar, Hata, she walked up to coach Rajesh Kumar Gupta at the RK Boxing Club and Sports Academy with a simple yet resolute declaration: "Sir, I want to box."

Recognizing her innate discipline and dedication, her coach began rigorous training, and Ayushi never looked back:

  • State-Level Gold Medals: She claimed her first junior women's gold medal at the Major Dhyanchand Sports Stadium in Jhansi (2014), followed by consecutive gold medals at Varanasi (2015) and Prayagraj (2016).

  • National Recognition: After winning gold at Meerut in 2017, she clinched her first bronze medal at the Junior National Championship in Rohtak, Haryana, later that year. Her medal-winning streak continued with podium finishes at the Youth Women's National Championship in Uttarakhand (2018), the Senior Nationals in Hisar (2022), and a bronze at the Indian National Women's Boxing Championship in Bhopal (2023).

  • The National Games Triumph: In 2024, Ayushi reached the pinnacle of domestic sports by securing a gold medal at the 37th National Games held in Goa.

Balancing Sports, Security Forces, and State Police Service

Ayushi's stellar work ethic extended far beyond the boxing ring. In 2025, she successfully cleared recruitment to join the Border Security Force (BSF) as a constable. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, she appeared for competitive examinations and cleared the rigorous selection process to become a Sub-Inspector in the Uttar Pradesh Police force.

Hailing from a family rooted in public service and academics—her father Santosh Kumar Prajapati serves at a Community Health Center, her mother Sunita Devi is a homemaker, her brother Alok Nath is a national-level boxer, and her sister is pursuing medical studies—Ayushi's success reflects a household dedicated to discipline, hard work, and nation-building.
