The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has issued a stern statement regarding the recent scandal involving the theft of offerings at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. Describing the incident as deeply "unfortunate" and a betrayal of the faith held by millions, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale emphasized that the event has caused widespread anguish across the Hindu community. The organization has called for immediate and severe punishment for all those involved in what it termed a "highly condemnable" breach of sanctity.

Restoring Trust in the Sanctum Sanctorum

The RSS leadership has made it clear that the current atmosphere of "confusion and ambiguity" surrounding the temple’s financial management must be brought to an immediate end. Dattatreya Hosabale urged the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to treat this scandal as an extraordinary failure and implement robust, flawless, and transparent systems to manage temple operations. The RSS stressed that the temple, built after generations of struggle and sacrifice, must remain an untarnished symbol of devotion, free from any operational mismanagement that could shake the faith of the devotees.

SIT Probe and Call for Transparency

In response to the crisis, the Uttar Pradesh government has already constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which has now expanded its scope to include a comprehensive re-audit of the Trust’s accounts over the past five years. This audit will extend beyond cash donations to include a rigorous inventory of gold, silver, and precious jewelry offerings. The RSS has placed its full confidence in this legal process, asserting that anyone found guilty—regardless of their position—must face the full weight of the law.

A Call for Patience Amidst Anti-Hindu Conspiracies

While demanding strict accountability, the RSS has also issued an appeal for restraint to the wider Hindu society. Hosabale warned that anti-Hindu and anti-national forces are actively seeking to exploit this incident to defame the Hindu religion and its institutions.
