Amit Shah lauded the efforts of former Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose and wrote a letter appreciating his work.
News Topical, Digital Desk : Union Home Minister Amit Shah has written a letter to former Bengal Governor Dr CV Anand Bose appreciating his dedication towards nationalist values, good governance and the vision of a developed India.
As Governor of Bengal, Shah said Bose worked tirelessly for the welfare and progress of the people of the state. The Home Minister also mentioned in his letter the BJP’s “historic victory” in the recent assembly elections in Bengal and said the victory was achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

To this, Bose said the election results reflected democratic principles and effective leadership. Bose suddenly resigned as governor before the assembly elections. He is presently living in his home state of Kerala.
Shah wrote to Bose, “I heartily congratulate you on the historic victory in the Bengal Assembly elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This victory is a testament to your steadfast commitment to nationalist values, good governance and the vision of developed India." “Bose’s dedication, passion and commitment is always visible,” Shah said.
The Home Minister wished Bose good health and a long life.
“Your distinguished, dedicated and active service to the public has been exemplary and inspirational. "I congratulate you once again on this achievement and wish you good health, long life and continued success," he wrote in the letter. The letter dated June 6, 2026 by Home Minister was sent to Bose’s residence in Kerala.
Bose said the election results are a reflection of democratic principles and good leadership. “This is a victory for democracy and common people of Bengal,” said Bose. This is the result of good leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is how the Home Minister deftly managed the election process to make sure free and fair elections in Bengal."
Bose was the Governor of Bengal for over three years.
Bose, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, had been the 21st Governor of Bengal for a little over three years. He was sworn in as governor on Nov. 17, 2022. Bose resigned from the gubernatorial post on March 5 this year, without any reason, just before the state assembly elections.
