It is said that the confluence of Alaknanda and Saraswati also took place in Mana village.
Where was Mahabharata written?
There is a place called Vyas Pothi in Mana village. There is a religious belief that Ved Vyas ji lived in Vyas Pothi i.e. Vyas Cave. Lord Ganesha composed the Mahabharata in this cave. The distance of Vyas Pothi from Badrinath is just 3 kilometers.

It is contained in Sanatan scriptures that Lord Ganesha was getting distracted by the fast flow of the Saraswati river during the composition of Mahabharata. At that time, he requested Goddess Saraswati to reduce the flow or slow down the sound. However, Mother Saraswati did not listen to him. At that time Lord Ganesha got angry and cursed the Saraswati river that you will disappear at the place of origin and reach Patal. Due to his curse, Saraswati river goes directly to Patal from Mana village. However, mysteriously it emerges in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. At this place, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers takes place.
