Legal Backfire: Woman Faces Jail After Submitting Fake Medical Bills to Court in Amroha

A bitter neighborhood feud in Rudrapur village has taken a dramatic turn, resulting in legal trouble for a woman who attempted to manipulate the judicial system. Babita, a resident of the village under the Hasanpur police station jurisdiction, now faces an FIR and potential imprisonment after the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court uncovered her elaborate scheme involving forged medical documents and fraudulent hospital bills.

The Fabricated Feud and False Allegations

The case originated from a long-standing dispute between Babita’s husband, Ranjeet Singh, and his neighbor, Dharampal. Attempting to frame her neighbors, Babita filed a serious complaint in the CJM’s court, alleging that on October 21, 2025, a group of 11 armed men—led by Dharampal—forcefully entered her home. She claimed the motive was a dispute over electricity theft, further alleging that the attackers assaulted her family and fired shots at her husband, Ranjeet. To substantiate her claims of injury, she submitted various medical documents and hospital bills, purportedly from a private facility in Hasanpur.

The Investigation Uncovers Forgery

The court’s scrutiny quickly exposed the deception. During the proceedings, the magistrate ordered a formal investigation into the authenticity of the medical records. The physician of the hospital mentioned in the bills, Dr. Rajesh, testified in court, stating that Babita, Ranjeet, and Rahul had never been treated at his facility. He further submitted an affidavit confirming that the seals, signatures, and medical forms presented were total forgeries. When the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) conducted a surprise inspection of the hospital’s records for the period of October 22–28, 2025, no trace of the alleged patients was found.

GST Fraud Leads to Final Verdict

The layers of deceit were peeled back even further when the State Tax Department provided a critical report. The GST number printed on the "hospital bills" provided by Babita was found to be non-existent, confirming that the documentation was entirely fabricated to mislead the court. Faced with this overwhelming evidence, the CJM concluded that the complaint was not a quest for justice, but a malicious attempt to pressure the opposing party and obstruct the legal process.

Severe Consequences for Misleading the Court

On Tuesday, the CJM delivered a decisive verdict: the complaint was dismissed, and the court directed the local authorities to register an FIR against Babita. She now faces criminal charges for forgery, perjury, and intentionally providing false information to a judicial body. This case serves as a stern reminder that using the legal system for vengeance through fraudulent documentation carries serious consequences, including the possibility of jail time.
