Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a fiery and emotionally charged address in Ayodhya on Friday, calling for deep-seated unity among the Sanatani community. Highlighting historical wounds, the 1947 partition, and contemporary security challenges, the Chief Minister warned that internal divisions along caste and linguistic lines have historically made the community vulnerable to external conspiracies. Drawing sharp parallels between historical betrayals and current political maneuvers, CM Yogi launched a scathing attack on anti-Sanatan elements and opposition parties.
"We Were Divided in 1947 and Cut Off": Reflecting on Partition Horrors
Speaking during his commemorative visit, CM Yogi emphasized that even during the turbulent era of India's partition, the Sanatani populace possessed immense strength, wisdom, and cultural glory. However, internal fractures enabled foreign and domestic conspirators to fracture the nation. He noted that the partition of 1947 was not merely a division of land, but a brutal slaughter of a civilizational identity where millions of Hindus and Sikhs were massacred. Citing ongoing atrocities against Hindu minorities in neighboring countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh, he lamented the conspicuous silence of certain domestic political factions regarding international human rights abuses.
Exposing Sambhal Violence and Historical Temple Destruction
Shifting focus to historical and recent unrest, the Chief Minister addressed the violence in Sambhal, recounting how the ancient Harihar Temple was demolished in 1526 to erect a disputed structure. He noted that had there been unified resistance during historical invasions, subsequent desecrations—such as the attack on the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya in 1528—could have been prevented. Commenting on recent disturbances during court-ordered archaeological surveys in Sambhal, CM Yogi stated that law enforcement acted decisively to quell targeted riots against Hindus and police personnel, unearthing ancient temple ponds that had been buried under decades of neglect. He also criticized past administrations for dropping criminal cases linked to historical communal violence in the region.
Warning Against Modern-Day "Kaikeyi and Manthara" Figures
Drawing mythological parallels to the epic of Ramayana, CM Yogi cautioned the public against modern political actors disguised as well-wishers, comparing them to figures like Kaikeyi and Manthara who engineered internal exile. He lambasted political leaders who historically used batons and bullets against Ram devotees, opposed legal resolutions for the Ram Temple, and now hypocritically posture as devout followers of Lord Rama for electoral convenience. Reaffirming his administration's zero-tolerance policy against corruption, he highlighted that swift investigative measures, including Special Investigation Teams (SIT), have been deployed to address recent security breaches and thefts of temple offerings.
