CM Yogi Adityanath Expresses Grief Over Pratapgarh House Collapse: Six Killed, One Injured in Tragic Rain Incident
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow and anguish over a tragic rain-related incident in Pratapgarh district, where a century-old residential building collapsed late at night. The devastating collapse claimed the lives of six members of a single family, while leaving one other person seriously injured. Immediate rescue operations were launched by local administrative and police authorities who rushed to the site to clear the debris and provide urgent assistance to the victims.
Century-Old House Collapses in Mahuli Ward During Heavy Rains
The harrowing incident occurred in the Mahuli ward located under the city Kotwali area of Pratapgarh, where continuous heavy downpours weakened the structure of a nearly 100-year-old residential house. All the family members were fast asleep inside the same room when the massive structure suddenly caved in, trapping them beneath the heavy rubble. The deceased have been identified as Nitin Srivastava (24), Madhav (2), Rita Srivastava (42), Pramod Srivastava (45), Madhuri (24), and six-month-old infant Babu. Meanwhile, another family member named Aman Srivastava survived with injuries and is currently receiving medical care.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Directs Immediate Medical Treatment for Injured
Taking swift cognizance of the tragedy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the district administration and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure that the injured survivor, Aman, receives the best possible medical treatment without any delay. Expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, the Chief Minister took to his official social media handle on 'X' to share his grief. He wrote, "The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in Pratapgarh district is deeply saddening. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed souls a place at his feet and a speedy recovery to the injured."
