‘This is just a trailer,’ says Eknath Shinde as Uddhav Thackeray says he will resign if you don’t trust him, but under one condition
News Topical,Digital Desk : Amid the rift in Shiv Sena (UBT) and the accusations from the Uddhav Thackeray faction, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said without taking any names, “Why people are leaving you, you should introspect.”
On Friday, the Shiv Sena was celebrating its 60th anniversary. Since the split four years ago, both factions have been celebrating their foundation day separately.
“Your feet aren’t on the ground.”
On Friday, the Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena celebrated the 60th foundation day in Mumbai at Goregaon’s NESCO ground whereas, the Uddhav faction celebrated their foundation day in the city’s Shanmukhananda auditorium.
While Uddhav Thackeray slammed the BJP and the Shiv Sena for the disunity within the party, Eknath Shinde invoked Asrani’s dialogue from the film Sholay to take a dig at the Uddhav faction, stating, “He is saying that who want to go let him go, so they have decided that half go here and half go there; But when he looks behind, he sees no one, his feet are not on the ground, why people are leaving you, you should introspect.”
Shinde added via couplets, “You are not sure that your feet aren’t on the ground.”
Shinde said, “The scenario has now changed. Politics cannot be done only by me; politics has now started for us. Even Ravana used to call only me; his Lanka was destroyed.”
The move of MPs and MLAs of Shiv Sena (UBT) is called Operation Tiger and on this, Eknath Shinde said, “We do an operation without doctors; My son Shrikant is a doctor but we operate even without doctors; such people do it with the hearts of tigers.”
PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah were lauded by Shinde as he also slammed Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi, he called a ‘Bhasmasur’, and said, "He does not do good to those who fight elections with him. His slogan is that I myself will get drowned whoever I am with, and others will also get drowned.”
Uddhav Thackeray targeted BJP
Addressing party workers at the Shanmukhananda auditorium, Uddhav Thackeray targeted the BJP, saying that former BJP President JP Nadda would talk about “One Nation One Election”; Today his party is moving towards “One Party and Nine Elections.”
Uddhav Thackeray said that the MPs who left Shiv Sena (UBT) party stated in a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker that there was talk of the merger of his party with Congress, hence they wanted to leave Shiv Sena (UBT) party and join Shiv Sena. He asked, “If he has not merged with the BJP for 30 years, how will he merge with Congress? He has spent half his life to oppose the Congress.”
Uddhav said that now the MPs who left are saying that “I have not left my house.” Then how did his nine MPs win, he asked?
Uddhav Thackeray says he is ready to resign
The Uddhav faction of Shiv Sena has suffered setbacks with many of their leaders crossing over. On Friday, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray also broke down while appealing to his party workers that he was ready to resign as the party president if he was not trusted by his followers. However, he added that he would entrust the command of the party to someone he trusted and would never allow it to fall into the hands of thieves. Thackeray also mentioned that he was ready to sacrifice the party chief post if necessary but assured the crowd that under no circumstances would he allow the Shiv Sena’s command to go to thieves.
