SRCC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: 16 Vacancies Announced in DU, UGC NET Not Mandatory for Certain Candidates

A premier institution under the University of Delhi, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), has officially released an employment notification inviting applications for 16 Assistant Professor positions. The recruitment drive aims to fill faculty vacancies across key academic departments, including Commerce, Economics, and Mathematics. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their online applications through the official college portal at www.srcc.edu or via du.ac.in. The deadline to complete and submit applications is August 22, 2026. For technical queries or application assistance, candidates can reach out to the recruitment cell via email at [email protected].

Department-Wise Breakdown of Vacancies

The 16 vacant Assistant Professor posts are distributed across three core academic disciplines to meet faculty requirements:

  • Commerce: 12 posts

  • Economics: 03 posts

  • Mathematics: 01 posts

Essential Educational Qualifications and Category Relaxations

To qualify for the Assistant Professor posts, applicants must hold a Master’s degree in the relevant subject (Commerce, Economics, or Mathematics) with a minimum of 55 percent marks—or an equivalent grade point scale—from an Indian or recognized foreign university. A relaxation of 5 percent (lowering the requirement to 50 percent marks) is granted to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and PwD categories, as well as to Ph.D. holders who completed their Master's degrees prior to September 19, 1991.

UGC NET Exemption Rules and Eligibility Criteria

While candidates are generally required to possess a National Eligibility Test (NET) certificate conducted by the UGC or CSIR, specific exemptions apply under UGC guidelines. Candidates holding a regular Ph.D. degree evaluated by at least two external examiners, backed by open viva results and published research papers, are exempt from NET. Additionally, candidates possessing a Ph.D. from institutions listed among the top 500 universities globally (under QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) or those specializing in academic subjects where the NET exam is not conducted are also exempt from this requirement.

Screening Process, Selection Criteria, and Salary Structure

Applications received by the deadline will undergo a rigorous screening process evaluated on a 100-point academic scale to shortlist candidates for personal interviews. This scale awards points based on graduation (up to 21 points), post-graduation (up to 25 points), M.Phil. or equivalent degrees (up to 7 points), Ph.D. qualifications (up to 25 points), and NET with JRF or standard NET certifications (up to 10 and 8 points respectively). Selected candidates will be placed under Academic Pay Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, drawing a handsome starting basic salary of ₹57,700 per month along with applicable allowances.
