Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 2,482 Officer Posts

Bank of Baroda (BOB) is concluding its major recruitment drive for 2,482 regular positions of Local Bank Officers (LBO) under the Junior Management Grade/Scale-I (JMG/S-I) cadre. Following an official extension addendum released on September 7, the bank set the final deadline for candidate registrations and fee submissions for September 17, 2026. Aspirants seeking a core banking officer career must finalize their digital applications immediately, as the national online screening examination is scheduled to take place in the first week of October 2026.

State-Wise Vacancies and Mandatory Regional Language Proficiency

The 2,482 vacancies are distributed across multiple states and union territories to strengthen regional banking operations. Gujarat leads the seat matrix with the highest quota of 1,185 openings, followed by Karnataka with 418 positions and Maharashtra with 218 posts, alongside allocations in other administrative zones. Because the role is deeply tied to localized branch operations, applicants must demonstrate verified reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in the local official language of the specific state or union territory they apply for.

Eligibility Norms, Experience Criteria, Age Limits, and Application Fees

Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute, supplemented by a minimum of one full year of professional working experience at the officer level in a scheduled commercial bank. The age window is strictly fixed between 21 and 30 years, with statutory age concessions granted to reserved categories as per government mandates. Regarding the fee structure, General, OBC, and EWS candidates are required to submit an application fee of ₹850, whereas candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen (ESM), and female categories pay a concessional charge ranging between ₹150 and ₹175.

Multi-Stage Selection Flow, Salary Package, and Service Bond Clauses

The recruitment process consists of an online objective test, a regional language proficiency test, a psychometric assessment, and a group discussion or personal interview, concluding with credential verification and a medical fitness exam. Appointed officers will enter the Junior Management Grade/Scale-I with an initial basic pay of ₹48,480, progressing on an incremental scale up to ₹85,920, supplemented by standard public sector banking allowances, perquisites, and benefits. Selected candidates will be required to execute a mandatory service bond committing to three years of active service; leaving the organization prior to completing this tenure incurs a recovery penalty equal to three months of gross pay, capped at a maximum of ₹2 lakh.
