News Topical, Digital Desk : Greek heiress and cancer survivor Marisa Leimou, 28, has died from an insect bite in London. This information was shared by her mother. According to The Standard, Laimou, a member of the Laimos family of shipowners, was found dead in her apartment on September 11 by her housekeeper.

She went to the hospital for a minor fever.

Her mother, Bessie Laimau, claimed that her daughter went to the hospital complaining of dizziness, fever, and infection, allegedly caused by insect bites, but was turned away.

Her mother was quoted by reports as saying, “She was bitten by an insect, she was itching, she went to the doctor, she took antibiotics, she ate, she slept, and she never woke up. My daughter has survived cancer. My little girl. She was a girl with so many talents. All of England is crying, all her doctors too.”

The nurse treated him

Laimou saw a home doctor who prescribed paracetamol. She then went to an oncologist (cancer specialist) and was referred to another hospital, where nurses, rather than doctors, examined her and she was discharged with antibiotics.

According to reports, medical professionals said there was no need to hospitalize Laimou. They gave him antibiotics and sent him home.

The hospital from which Laimou was discharged has reportedly launched an internal investigation into the incident, and a postmortem will be conducted in the coming days, reports The Independent.

Great-grandmother is deeply shocked

Marisa's great-grandmother, Chrysanthi, told Parapolitika, “The entire family is shocked by the sudden death of Diamantis and Bessy Laimou's daughter. She was a very kind, quiet, educated, cultured, humble and simple girl. She loved art and theatre, and was involved in theatre. Heartfelt condolences to the family! Strength and courage!”

Lymou has worked with fashion designers such as Sonia Rykiel and John Galliano, founded Rainbow Wave, introduced international brands to UK retailers, and been involved in London theatre productions.
