News Topical, Digital Desk : Former Union Minister Vijay Goyal along with members of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) protested at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the increasing problem of dogs.

Vijay Goyal, while talking to ABP News, said that the Supreme Court has ordered animal lovers to adopt dogs and feed them in their homes, but now the time has come to remove stray dogs from the streets and build shelter homes for them.

He said that the 'No dogs on the street' policy should be implemented. Children have stopped playing in parks. Women are afraid to leave their homes, dogs chase people on scooters and bikes.

In many cases, incidents of dog bites have been reported. He demanded that the person bitten by a dog should be compensated by the government. Stray dogs should be counted and the existing ABC (Animal Birth Control) policy should be changed.

Vijay Goyal said that leaving the dogs on the streets and parks again after they bite is not a solution. He said that discussions have been held with the Chief Secretary of MCD and Delhi Government regarding this problem. The Chief Secretary had assured that 'no dog zones' will be created and information about it will be available in August.

Vijay Goyal said that dog lovers have filed so many cases that people are now unable to refuse to feed dogs on the streets. He raised the question that if tomorrow the children of dog lovers are bitten by dogs then who will be responsible? He claimed that about 60 thousand cases of dog bites are reported in the country every day.
