Varmora Granito Lists at 4.7% Premium, Later Eases to ₹153 on NSE
Shares of Gujarat-headquartered ceramic and bathware manufacturer Varmora Granito marked their secondary market entrance on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, delivering a measured opening pop for primary market subscribers. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the counter commenced trading at ₹155 per share, reflecting a 4.73% premium over its upper price band issue level of ₹148. Simultaneously, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the scrip debuted at ₹152 apiece, commanding a 2.70% listing gain. However, following the initial opening bell tick, the stock witnessed mild intraday profit-booking, shedding 1.29% by 11:45 AM to trade around the ₹153 mark as broader mid-cap market volatility capped further immediate upside momentum.
Subscription Breakdown: Institutional Interest Leads 1.58x Overall Bidding Volume
The listing performance reflects the disciplined response recorded during the three-day initial public offering, which ran for bidding from September 22 to September 24. Overall, the public issue garnered 1.58 times subscription, receiving bids for 5.34 crore equity shares against the net offer size of 3.39 crore shares. Anchor and institutional participation provided substantial support, with the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) segment oversubscribed 3.16 times. In contrast, the Non-Institutional Investors (NII/HNI) quota closed just shy of complete take-up at 92%, while the Retail Individual Investors (RII) portion witnessed clean full subscription across retail bid limits. Ahead of launch, the company prudently right-sized the issue, trimming the fresh capital raise from an initially proposed ₹400 crore down to ₹320 crore alongside a proportionate scale-down in the secondary Offer for Sale (OFS) component.
Strategic Capital Allocation: ₹245 Crore Debt Deleveraging to Strengthen Morbi Operations
Proceeds from the ₹320 crore fresh equity mop-up are earmarked primarily to optimize the company's financial balance sheet, with ₹245 crore allocated for the total repayment or prepayment of outstanding term borrowings across the parent entity and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, while residual funds will support corporate working capital. Operating eight integrated manufacturing facilities across Gujarat’s ceramic hub in Morbi, Varmora has pivoted toward high-margin premium architectural products; glazed vitrified tiles (GVT) and technical surface solutions generated 84.19% of its total tile turnover in FY2026. Armed with a domestic sales network distributed 66.8% via direct Business-to-Consumer (B2C) retail networks and 33.2% through Business-to-Business (B2B) institutional contracts, Varmora Granito enters the public domain to directly challenge established listed peers including Kajaria Ceramics, Somany Ceramics, Asian Granito India, and Orient Bell.
