Transrail Lighting Jumps 4% on Winning ₹412-Cr T&D Order
Shares of heavy electrical equipment and engineering firm Transrail Lighting Limited witnessed strong buying momentum during Tuesday's market session, advancing more than 4% following a major order announcement. The BSE 1000-listed infrastructure company confirmed that it has secured fresh domestic and international contracts valued at ₹412 crore within its core Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business division. With this latest win, the company’s aggregate order intake for the current financial year has expanded to ₹2,021 crore. In addition to the confirmed awards, Transrail Lighting maintains a robust pipeline, having emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for projects valued at approximately ₹409 crore, further bolstering its medium-term revenue visibility.
Focus on High-Capacity HTLS Reconductoring and In-House Manufacturing Strength
The newly secured ₹412 crore contracts primarily entail transmission line reconductoring projects—an essential technological process where aging electrical conductors on operational towers are replaced with high-ampacity cables to significantly scale power-carrying capacities without requiring fresh land acquisitions or tower erection. The execution of these projects will heavily utilize Transrail’s proprietary, in-house developed high-performance carbon-core High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors. Backed by expanded manufacturing capabilities, the firm's operational capacity currently stands at 184,400 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) for transmission towers and 40,800 kilometers per annum (KMPA) for specialized conductors, placing the company in a strong position to meet rising transmission infrastructure demand.
Green Energy Corridor Phase III Tailwinds and Volatile Dalal Street Movement
The strategic expansion of transmission infrastructure comes alongside massive policy tailwinds, particularly the Central Government's clearance of Phase III of the Green Energy Corridor. This national initiative is designed to build dedicated grid evacuation infrastructure capable of integrating 900 GW of non-fossil fuel-based renewable energy into the national grid. On Dalal Street, Transrail Lighting's stock witnessed volatility, opening higher at ₹485.50 on the NSE against its previous close of ₹462.75, before briefly dipping to an intraday low of ₹475. Following the regulatory disclosure of the ₹412 crore order, renewed buying lifted the stock back to ₹484 per share, taking the company's total market capitalization close to ₹6,450 crore.
