Q1 Financial Results: Four Major Companies Report Impressive Profit Growth of Up to 80% in June Quarter

The current corporate earnings season has brought cheer to investors as several prominent companies announced robust financial performances for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27. Leading firms across packaging, electrical equipment, heavy engineering, and public construction sectors showcased impressive year-on-year profit jumps ranging from 18% to nearly 80%. While companies like TCPL Packaging and Surya Roshni registered stellar all-around improvements in revenue, EBITDA, and margins, entities like ISGEC Heavy Engineering and state-run NBCC demonstrated resilience despite encountering localized operational pressures.

TCPL Packaging Delivers Stellar 79% Profit Jump

TCPL Packaging has reported an exceptional performance for the first quarter (Q1) of FY 2026-27, driven by strong market demand and robust operational execution. The company's net profit surged by an impressive 79.3% year-on-year, climbing from ₹22.32 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year to ₹40.01 crore. Financial growth was mirrored across key metrics, with total revenue expanding by 16.1% from ₹424.68 crore to ₹492.97 crore. Furthermore, the company's EBITDA registered an 18.4% increase, moving from ₹72.61 crore to ₹85.94 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded slightly from 17.10% to 17.43%.

Surya Roshni Posts Robust 77% Surge in Net Profit

Electrical and consumer equipment manufacturer Surya Roshni also announced stellar financial results for the June quarter, highlighted by massive top-line and bottom-line expansion. The company's net profit recorded a massive 77% jump, rising from ₹33.6 crore to ₹59.6 crore. Revenue from operations witnessed a robust 28% growth, surging from ₹1,604.5 crore to ₹2,046.5 crore. Bolstered by strong operational efficiencies, Surya Roshni's EBITDA climbed 61% from ₹69.8 crore to ₹112.3 crore, helping the company improve its EBITDA margin significantly from 4.4% to 5.5%.

ISGEC Heavy Engineering Sees 30% Profit Growth Amid Margin Pressures

Engineering major ISGEC Heavy Engineering released its June quarter performance scorecard, reflecting strong top-line expansion accompanied by bottom-line gains, though profitability margins faced some headwinds. The company posted a 29.15% increase in net profit, rising from ₹7 crore to ₹8.95 crore. Revenue experienced a massive 46% surge, jumping from ₹1,356.3 crore to ₹1,980 crore. However, EBITDA remained nearly flat at ₹123.6 crore compared to ₹124 crore previously. Consequently, the company's operational profitability came under pressure, with the EBITDA margin contracting from 9.14% to 6.24% due to rising input and operational costs.

NBCC Records Profit and Margin Expansion Despite Revenue Dip

State-owned construction and project management company NBCC (India) Limited delivered a mixed yet fundamentally strong performance in the first quarter. The public sector enterprise reported a 17.2% rise in net profit, growing from ₹132.1 crore to ₹154.8 crore. Interestingly, this profitability growth was achieved despite a minor 6% decline in total revenue, which dropped from ₹2,392.5 crore to ₹2,259.5 crore. Demonstrating sharp operational streamlining, NBCC's EBITDA soared by 39% from ₹111.5 crore to ₹155 crore, pushing its EBITDA margin up impressively from 4.66% to 6.86% and highlighting strong cost-management efficiency during the quarter.
