
Two youths drowned in the Alaknanda river in Srinagar area of Pauri district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Both these youths were residents of Muzaffarpur in Bihar. After the incident, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the local administration conducted an intensive search operation and recovered the bodies of both the youths. The incident took place near Chauras bridge at around 3:00 pm.
Stuck in deep water
According to the information, three youths had gone to swim in the river, but suddenly they got stuck in the deep water and started drowning. One of these youths was somehow saved by the local people, while the other two youths drowned in the river.
Bodies were pulled out of the river
On receiving information about the incident, the SDRF team immediately reached the spot and started the search operation along with the district police and local people. After some time, the bodies of both the drowned youths were taken out of the river.
Where were both young men from?
According to police officials, the two drowned youths have been identified as Ayush Raj (20) and Harshraj Kaushik (19), both residents of Muzaffarpur in Bihar. The rescued youth is Divyanshu (21), a resident of Mau in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh.
Officials also said that the families of the youths have been informed about the accident and they are being awaited. After this accident, the local administration has instructed to tighten all security arrangements at the accident site.
