On the second trading session of the week, i.e. Tuesday, the market witnessed a spectacular recovery. But, in the last hour of trading, the market was once again seen slipping from the upper levels. Both the indexes closed down from the upper levels of the day. However, the midcap and smallcap index closed on a rise. On the sectoral front, buying was seen in pharma, realty and IT stocks. Whereas, metal, energy and infra index closed on a decline.

With this, the market today appeared to break the 7-day decline. After the news of air strikes by Ukraine in many areas of Russia, the market saw a decline from the day's highs. The Sensex closed in the green but slipped 900 points from the day's peak.

At what level did the market close today?
After a day's work on Tuesday, the Sensex closed at 77,578 with a gain of 239 points. Nifty closed at 23,519 with a gain of 65 points. The Nifty Midcap index closed at 54,548, up 503 points. Nifty Bank closed at 50,627 with a gain of 263 points.

 

Which stocks saw action today?
M&M closed with a gain of 5% today after positive commentary from the management. Trent closed with a gain of 2% today after 3 days of weakness. This stock was included in the list of Nifty's weakest stocks today. Insurance stocks showed pressure today after the statement of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. PSP Projects closed with a gain of 15% today after the news of stake acquisition by Adani Group.

Suzlon Energy saw an upper circuit for the second consecutive day today. Morgan Stanley had issued a note on this stock today and set a target price of ₹ 71 per share. GMR Airports closed with a gain of 4% today after good traffic in October. Indian Hotels has set a target of doubling the income by 2030, after which this stock closed with a gain of about 3%.
