NASA's spacecraft Parker Solar Probe has made history by reaching closest to the Sun. No man-made object has ever passed as close to the Sun as Parker has. NASA said on Friday that Parker Solar Probe is "safe" and working properly.

 

Scientists received signal from Parker Probe

Parker has withstood the intense heat of the Sun. NASA said that a team of scientists at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory received a signal from the Parker probe on Thursday. NASA hopes that the spacecraft will send detailed data about its status on January.

What is the aim of the mission?

This NASA spacecraft passed 61 lakh km from the Sun's surface on December 24 and flew into the Sun's outer atmosphere, the corona region. This mission will help scientists learn more about the Sun.

 

Flying at a speed of 692,000 kilometers per hour, the spacecraft endured temperatures of up to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit (982 degrees Celsius), according to NASA's website. Since its launch in 2018, the Parker probe has been slowly moving toward the Sun.
