America is considered the most powerful country in the world. A theft incident has come to light from America which is hard to believe. In fact, eggs worth Rs 33,000 have been stolen from a cafe.
Food worth about 68 thousand rupees was stolen
The theft took place at Luna Park Cafe in Seattle, USA last Wednesday. Police informed that the thieves stole food worth about $780 (Rs 67,749), which included blueberries, bacon, ground beef and a liquid product made from eggs.
"The cafe serves mostly egg dishes. The price of eggs in the US is very high right now, and since the theft happened, things have become even more difficult, which has seriously affected business," said David Park, the cafe's manager.
The thieves did not steal the liquor
He said, "The thieves did not steal liquor, which is more expensive than eggs, but specifically eggs, meat and egg-related products because of the surge in prices".
David Park said, "When he got the news of the theft, he immediately reached the cafe and saw the suspects taking food. When he tried to catch the thieves, they fled from the spot. Seattle Police Department is investigating the case and the suspects have not been identified yet."
This theft has happened at a time when the US is facing rising egg prices. Last week, nearly 1 lakh eggs worth Rs 34,84,329 were stolen from an organic farm in Franklin County in south-central Pennsylvania.
Why are the prices of eggs increasing?
"Egg prices are rising due to avian flu," said Saloni Vastan, associate marketing professor at Emory University. This flu has caused the death of about 136 million birds since 2022.
The flu is causing people to buy more eggs because people are expecting higher prices and grocery store supplies to be low."
