
Third-quarter profit at Cummins India rose 12 per cent to 5.58 billion rupees ($64 million) from 4.99 billion rupees a year ago as demand for power generators remained steady. Overall, sales of the firm surged 22% to 30.52 billion rupees for the quarter. During this period, most of Cummins' revenue was from the sale of engines and power generators. A key factor for the company to perform has been the transition to more emission stringent diesel gensets. The shares of Cummins India gained about 3% on Wednesday after the parent company forecast an optimistic revenue growth for 2024 following positive quarterly results.
