
In the coming days, the speed of 4G services of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) will increase. According to exclusive information received by CNBC Awaaz, a package of about Rs 6 thousand crore has been approved for BSNL in the cabinet meeting held late on Friday evening.
MTNL has already signed a 10-year agreement with BSNL for 4G network. From January 1, 2025, the operations of both the companies have become one. In such a situation, both the companies are expected to benefit from the 4G network expansion. Plan to install 1 lakh 4G sites Actually, the company had planned to install about 1 lakh 4G sites. For this, an expenditure of about Rs 19 thousand crore is estimated but the company ordered only Rs 13 thousand crore for the equipment. An additional amount of about Rs 6 thousand crore was needed to fully implement the plan. For this, a proposal was sent to the Cabinet through the Ministry of Telecom. Let us tell you that from 2019 till now, the government has given a total of Rs 3.22 crore to both the companies through three different packages. There is also news that the government will also provide sovereign guarantee for MTNL.
